Local rights workflow

Clean private metadata. Add back the rights that matter.

Write creator, copyright notice, credit line, a web statement of rights, an IPTC/PLUS Licensor URL and a license link into JPEG or PNG XMP. The browser changes metadata structures only; it does not redraw or upload the image.

Carry a human-readable creator name and preferred credit line with the file.

Rights statement

Licensing path

Point recipients toward the page where they can understand or acquire a license.

Why this is useful—and what it is not.

Google documents that image metadata can provide creator, credit and licensing details in Google Images, and that suitable licensing information can make an image eligible for a Licensable badge. Eligibility and display are never guaranteed.

This tool is for ownership and delivery workflows. It does not fabricate camera history, claim that an image is human-made, or promise Instagram reach. Platforms may remove embedded metadata after upload.
